Chilli’s is owned and run by husband and wife Herok and Panna. Their journey from Sylhet Bangladesh to Weymouth influences all aspects of the Chilli’s experience, from the colour of the walls to the unique style of food.
Herok was born and raised in Bangladesh Panna was born in Bangladesh but raised in the UK. Herok and Panna got married in 1999 in Bangladesh. Herok first came to the UK in 2000 after the birth of his daughter.
Not having a penny in his pocket and responsibility of looking after his small family, Herok started to work in his older brother’s takeaway. Working right at the bottom as a kitchen porter Herok slowly climbed the ladder and became a chef. After 10 years working for his brother Herok left the catering industry to become a taxi driver and worked for a local taxi firm, where Herok got to know the local people of Weymouth.
In 2015 an opportunity came up to buy a restaurant. Herok and Panna brought Chilli’s in June 2015. A handful of people were apprehensive about them taking over Chilli’s and were so sure it would fail. Herok and Panna took this as a challenge and put all their time and effort into making Chilli’s a success.
Herok and Panna would like to take this opportunity to express their deepest gratitude to all their customers, and make it known to them that it is the customers who have made Chilli’s what it is today.
